Birthday Battle: Bracket 1
2026 is our birthday and we’ve got a year of celebrations planned! One such celebration is a limited edition miniature that will be chosen BY YOU. Each of the four folks at Goblin King Games has made a suggestion for four miniatures; each week you’ll vote on your favourite (on Facebook or Instagram) until you’ve chosen the one that’ll be made.
Bracket 1: Suzie’s Selection
Choosing four characters is haaaard. Like when I’m prepping for a tournament, I chose too many characters and spent ages taking one out only to swap it in again later. Anyway, my chosen four are below for your consideration. I settled on these ones because I’ll think they’ll make some really fun alt sculpts, so fingers crossed one of them wins! I decided to represent the ladies of Moonstone too, so there will definitely be a female character in the final this way!
Gertrude Hunting Faeries
Gertrude was a key character in The Arising and I had a huge amount of fun writing about her. She’s a badass and I’d love to see an alt sculpt of her where she’s more aggressive. How about a cloud of smoke with an unfortunate Faerie inside where she’s shot one out of the sky? Or, Gertrude has spun her blunderbuss round and is smacking a Faerie like a baseball? OR, Gertrude is doing her signature spinning kick - hi-ya!
The Duchess, the Assassin
The Duchess isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. I’d like to see a mini of her in a rich, luxurious cloak with the hood up while she creeps in the dark, peeking around a corner or lurking behind a tree. Waiting. A nasty looking dagger in her hand. Perhaps she’s even unmasked, so her victim sees her real face.
Anya’s Just an Innocent Little Girl
I’m getting a bit of a two-for-one with this idea! I love the idea of a mini of Anya playing a game with the Stryga - maybe Pat-A-Cake or jumping the “rope” of the goo coming out of her. Then Anya herself could be examining the cupcake that led to her unfortunate curse, worms and all!
Danica the Puppeteer
Danica is an old (oooooooooold) lady, so let’s give her a twisted rocking chair so she can take the weight off her feet, eh? And a nice knitted blanket around her shoulders to keep the chill out. Oh, and how about a puppet version of the second placed character in her lap? I suspect she’ll look very pleased with herself and it’s best not to think about what that puppet will be doing.
