Birthday Battle Finalists
We’ve come to the end of our Birthday Battle heats and we’re now heading into the finals!
To help you choose, we’ve accompanied the ideas with some initial sketches of what the mini could look like. Keep an eye on Facebook, Instagram and Reddit so you can cast your votes in the coming weeks. We’ll then share the progress as the mini is finalised.
Suzie’s Choice: Gertrude Hunting Faeries
“Gertrude was a key character in The Arising and I had a huge amount of fun writing about her. She’s a badass and I’d love to see an alt sculpt of her where she’s more aggressive. How about a cloud of smoke with an unfortunate Faerie inside where she’s shot one out of the sky?” - Suzie
Joe’s Choice: Hogswash and Trotters Charge into Battle
“Despite how peaceful and relaxed Hogswash’s current model looks, he is anything but that once his activation starts! So something with Hogswash’s hunting spear ready in a charging motion, shield braced to his shoulder, and Trotters bounding furiously towards their unfortunate target. Something to put the fear of Gary in all those oppose the pair! Chaaaarge!” - Joe
Mick’s Choice: The Wendigo is Terrifying
“Whilst I do love all of the Moonstone models for their character and beauty, like children there will always be a least favourite, and for mine it is the Wendigo. The hunched pose and emaciated frame are beautifully threatening but I just want them to be a bit… bigger? I want some board presence! I want this guy/girl/thing to look as terrifying as the rules say they are! I’d like a truly ferocious Wendigo, standing tall with enemy corpse in hand, mid feast! I want to look across the table at this bad boy and think “Nope, not today”!” - Mick
Tom’s Choice: Gotchgut Celebrates with Syd
“Gotchgut was the first big guy model we made so it naturally grabbed my attention for nostalgia value. It tickled me way back in the day that he was the Egg and Crown’s uncontested drinking champion, until Vicious Syd came along and drank him under the table. So the idea is to show the OG drinking duo reunited and toasting to 10 years. Vicious Syd could be perched on his shoulder (as a fully separate piece so non-goblin troupes who use Gotchgut can have him raising a tankard alone if they prefer, with the Syd piece exchangeable for a party hat!).” - Tom
