Count de Candies: Limited Edition Sculpt

What better way for us to celebrate Halloween than with a bit of trick-or-treating? Well, this year we’re celebrating with this limited edition sculpt too!

This is Count de Candies, an alt sculpt of young Olim and his dog Emlyn for Commonwealth players. We’re counting on you to recognise who they’re dressed up as… Yes, that’s right - Viscount de Faulte - which means Shades and Dominion players will also be able to use this alt sculpt in their troupes (he will come with alternate art versions of both stat cards!).

You can pre-order from 10am BST Friday 26th September and the general release date is 17th October. Be quick though, we’ll only offer Count de Candies for sale until the end of October!

Young Jack wasn’t sure who was more excited, Olim or Emlyn. Or himself. Olim wriggled and the white paint splodged onto his ear, making him squeal at the cold. Emlyn barked enthusiastically in reply, bouncing around in a circle and making her straw rustle.

“There, that’ll do,” Jack called over the ruckus, “You’re ready to go!”

“Dada do you think I am scary?” Olim twisted the cuff of the over-large shirt-coat nervously.

“Let me see,” Jack put a finger on his lips thoughtfully, “You need your hat.”

“Oh yes! Hat hat hat…” Olim pulled the dragon hat onto his head, humming. Then he stood still, his expression serious again.

“Well now, you need to look more scary - give me a scary face!”

“RAWR!” Olim bared his teeth and made his hands into claws.

Emlyn barked again, a doggy grin spread across her face.

“You’re definitely scary.”

“Really?”

“Really really.”

“RAWR!”

“Would you like me to come with you?” Jack asked as casually as possible.

“RAWR!”

“Olim?”

“No thanks dada—”

There was a soft knock at the door. Emlyn rushed forwards, barking happily, looking between the door and Jack as he approached.

“Back, Emlyn…” he muttered and Emlyn pushed her tail in the air as she trotted backwards.

Stood in the doorway was young Martha Applepip, dressed in a poufy pink dress and a simple mask strapped to her face. She toddled inside, gave a little twirl and courtseyed.

“You look very pretty Martha,” Jack said warmly.

“Thank you Mister Jack. Mama said I was too pretty so she gave me this mask so I would look less pretty and look more scary and more like I could go tricky treating with Olim.”

Jack nodded along but before he could reply Nathan Badgerbrows appeared in the open doorway. A frilly cap was perched on his head and a long apron trailed behind him. He banged a small rolling pin against a pan in his other hand, the loud clanging rolling and reverberating around the room. Martha pushed her hands over her ears while both Olim and Emlyn howled with delight.

“THANK YOU NATHAN,” Jack called over the noise, “WHAT HAVE YOU COME AS?”

Nathan stopped playing his pan. “I is Mama Gimble cos she is the scariest in the whole world.”

Jack laughed, but it soon stopped when he noticed the children' s expressions.

Martha whispered, “Mister Jack, you shouldn’t laugh about Mama Gimble. She’ll give you a whack.”

The children shuddered and Emlyn whined.

Confused, Jack said, “Well… errr… are you ready?”

“Yeeeeeeeees!” The three children intoned, jumping up and down. Emlyn wuffed and bounced over to Jack, who placed the band with a horn on her head. She then joined in the bounding, her straw swishing.

Chuckling, Jack picked up three brightly coloured buckets and waited by the door, watching the children babble to each other. Martha was the first to notice the buckets. She rushed forwards, grabbed her bucket, and skurried out into the street in a rush of pink. Nathan was close behind, shoving the rolling pin into his apron strap so he could grasp the bucket from Jack.

Olim trotted over, Emlyn at his side. Gently he took the bucket and muttered, “Thanks dada.”

“You’re welcome titch,” he leaned down and whispered, “When you get back we can have some spiced pumpkin juice.”

Olim looked horrified. “There’s something more ‘portant we need to do first.”

“Oh yes, what’s that?”

“Count de candies…”
