Is it a Faerie? Is it a Pirate? No, it's both! Brigid combines the gunpowder of the Pirates and the magic of the Faeries for a very unique crew member for the ship of the damned.

A Quick Look at Stats

First things first though: the plethora of expected abilities and stats for such a character.

Naturally, her stats are very faerie-like, combining an average Melee stat with poor Melee Range and Wds, with a great Arcane and Evade stat. From her Faerie heritage, she also has ‘Feeble’, meaning she's unlikely to cause any damage in melee and will often need help harvesting moonstones. From her pirate equipment, she has the traditional ‘Reload’ ability to fire her pistol again, except that it isn't the type of pistol a pirate normally carries.

Faerie Fire Pistol

'Faerie Fire Pistol' functions like a normal pistol, except with a few Fae-tweaks. Much like a normal pistol, it has a range of 8", which is great for a Faerie as they are normally limited to a 6" range. Unlike a normal pistol, it deals slightly reduced damage of only X. However, it makes up for this by working on a pink instead of a green, making it harder for decks that strip the Arcane deck of specific cards to stop everyone's pistols by emptying the deck of greens. Additionally, it deals magical instead of impact damage, allowing her Pirate troupe an option for dealing with characters that resist impact damage.

So that's her Pirate-y equipment with a twist of Faerie magic, now what about some Faerie magic with a twist of Pirate-y influence?

Poor Unfortunate Souls

'Poor Unfortunate Souls' has a more Faerie-like range of 6" and manipulates Energy. But, with a Pirate-y twist, it also manipulates Wds… for a price. Similar to Barnakelle's rum, this ability can gift additional energy, but at the cost of another Stat, sapping the Wds of the targeted Pirate. It can also grant a little healing like the Powder Monkeys’ rum, but now Brigid is sapping the target’s energy. As well as helping your own troupe, this can be an excellent detriment to your opponent, simply "heal" an unwounded enemy character... then sap their energy!

“I’d rather drink the Monkey’s rum, thanks…”

Shade-y Influence

There is one more influence on Brigid’s abilities outside of the Pirate and Faerie features - her allegiance to the Shades. This is primarily seen in her signature, which reduces all Dmg she suffers to nil if one of her friends has been slain, and her passive 'Spirits of the Fallen'.

Where her signature defends her, 'Spirits of the Fallen' allows her to attack in an entirely new way. Whilst a friendly character is slain, Brigid can plunder their Arcane abilities, allowing her to use them once a turn. Has Ribald been recently slain? Fire his Cannon! Has your only reanimator been slain? Well, just bring them back using their reanimate!

The options here are endless, making Brigid overall one of the most flexible options available to the Pirates, with nearly limitless options for supporting your troupe!
