Chezapeaky
Pack mules have been valued throughout history for their ability to haul large quantities of heavy supplies over huge distances. But what about when undead Pirates wish to do the same in Tauber? Well obviously they get a pack... crab?
Naturally Tough
Owing to the natural toughness of crustaceans, Chezapeaky is festooned with some great Stats and abilities to make sure he'll be able to shrug off hits better than the average Pirate. With 9 Wds and a 'Barnacle Encrusted Shell', he'll be reducing most Dmg by -1, and have a healthy Wds stockpile for adversaries to burn through. Whilst a bit more niche, Chezapeaky can also utilise his signature to hamper any aggressor. 'Crushing Pressure' only deals a little Dmg, but if the enemy suffers any Wds, they discard an Energy. This can rob potential aggressors of further Melee attacks, saving Chezapeaky from pain in Melee.
Free Reloads
However, Chezapeaky’s main job isn't to tough it out and tank hits, it's mainly to support his fellow Pirates. The most straightforward such ability for this is 'Stocked to the Gills' - simply target a friendly Pirate whose fired their Pistol, and they get to reload it for free! As long as the Pirate isn't engaged, and hence wouldn't be able to reload, that's it. Simply reload the pistol out of activation, and for an Energy discount to keep up the pistol barrage. Alongside Commodore Delahaye, this can allow Pirate troupes to put out a ferocious amount of firepower with an Arcane bonus from the ‘Black Spot’ and additional pistol shots from Chezapeaky's reloading prowess.
Gone Fishin’
“Go on, call me a watery tart one more time…”
Not all support is damage-focused though. 'Gone Fishin' gives the Pirates a little heal, which can be great for patching up small injuries, like potentially healing a pipped Energy dot to generate more energy next turn. Owing to his affinity with the sea, Chezapeaky gets a further bonus to this heal so long as he has some water nearby to help with his fishing. Within the Shades, this can be easily provided by Sen'Ara or even the Commodore himself.
Junk Toss
Is that all? No! Chezapeaky has one more trick up his sleeve, as well as possibly a kitchen sink, and even more assorted junk. Unlike his other abilities, this one has very little focus, it could bring about a huge array of effects, the aptly named 'Junk Toss'.
Maybe he'll throw a dagger he found in his pocket for X piercing damage. Maybe a net on his back to stop someone from jogging for the turn. Possibly even that kitchen sink up his sleeve for a wound and an X" knockback, as Chezapeaky's aggressor wonders what they just had thrown at them! Against big melee characters with low energy, like giants, Chezapeaky can hold an enemy at bay like this for a turn or two whilst everyone else in the troupe fills them full of pistol holes!
A useful toolbox of skills and junk galore, Chezapeaky will always have the right ability to hand to help your troupe as needed, with loaded pistols, delayed enemies, and heals all around.
