Charge of the Fright Brigade
Dozens of Psychopomps scampered around the chamber; they trilled, squealed, and jabbered to each other, a cacophony of noise that accompanied a riot of colour. Igor pinched the bridge of his squat nose, sighing deeply.
Movement at his feet caught his eye and he looked down into the staring eyes of a large bread roll. Or bun. Or teacake. Butter dribbled down its angry face.
“Yeeeeeessssss…?” Igor intoned, straightening.
Scowling, the teacake thrashed its fists through Igor’s floating legs.
“Oh do desist, you irritating creature.”
The teacake poked out its tongue and rejoined the throng.
