Angerboda, Frost Giant
“Watch out, the Shades are here!” Loci called to the waiting troupe. They scurried out from their hiding places to take defensive stances.
Angerboda growled and sprinted forwards, grinning at their surprised expressions. Then she noticed the unmistakable knotwork of her old home festooned across their weapons and armour. She slowed to a stop.
“What’s she doing?” Bjørn snapped, moving his grip on his axe.
Angerboda narrowed her eyes then said in Norse, “Are you from the White Islands?”
Liv strode towards her, lowering her hands and dismissing her magic. “Yes,” she replied in Norse, “We’re refugees from Skrimbåld. Our Princess lives on Tauber too.”
Angerboda looked confused and examined each of them in turn. Eventually she said, “I fight for my King. But if your goals don’t overlap with his, you may call on me.” She threw a blue stone onto the ground in front of them. It was decorated with an intricate rune.
“What is that?” Bjørn asked.
Liv bent stiffly to pick it up and examine it, she smiled. “A communication stone.”
